A Calmer Night
Sleep is one of the first things affected when life feels stressful, overwhelming, or emotionally heavy. It is also one of the things that can make everything else feel harder when it is not going well.
When mums are not sleeping, patience becomes thinner. Small things feel bigger. It becomes harder to think clearly, respond calmly, or feel connected. When children are not sleeping, behaviour may become more intense. There may be more tantrums, clinginess, big emotions, conflict, or difficulty listening.
This guide invites you to look at sleep with curiosity and compassion.
Sleep is not just about bedtime, and it is not a skill that needs to be trained. Sleep is a biological process. It is deeply connected to safety, connection, rhythm, development, the nervous system, and the emotional environment around the child.
The aim is not to force sleep. The aim is to understand what may be getting in the way of rest and to support your family toward calmer nights in a way that respects both your child's development and your wellbeing.

I am a social worker and therapist who works with women navigating motherhood, family life, relationships, overwhelm, and identity changes.
A lot of the women I work with have spent so long taking care of everyone else that they no longer really know what they need, how they feel, or how to slow down.
My role is not to judge, blame, or tell you there is one perfect way to do family life.
I am here to listen closely, help you better understand what may be happening underneath the surface, and support you toward life feeling calmer, lighter, and more connected again.
